Hogan believes Stoke City can beat anyone after ending losing streak

Stoke City forward Scott Hogan believes the Potters have the ability to beat any team on their day despite making a poor start to the current campaign. The Staffordshire outfit are currently rock-bottom of the Championship after 11 games and they have gone into the international break with a boost after registering a late triumph over Swansea City on the road.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Hogan said that the break has come at the perfect time for the Potters and this will ensure that they won’t get carried away by the Swansea result. He added that the team are expected to perform much better than the recent run of results and the squad is capable of beating any side in the Championship.

“We’ve got a break now to ensure we don’t get carried away. At the end of the day that’s what we expect from every game not once every 10 weeks so we need to kick on now. We need to regroup, come back down to Earth and remember that we’re expected to pick up more points than we have at the moment. We have a tough run of fixtures coming but I believe we can beat anybody,” Hogan told.

Stoke made the worst possible start against Swansea over the weekend with Andre Ayew scoring for the hosts after just one minute on the clock. However, they showed great character to comeback with Sam Clucas levelling the scores before the break and Hogan made the headlines with a 90th-minute winner.

The victory has relieved some of the pressure from the shoulders of manager Nathan Jones, who was potentially facing the sack with a defeat at the Liberty Stadium. The Potters return from the international break with a home game against Fulham. The game won’t be an easy affair with the Cottagers currently one of the top scorers in the Championship.
