Nigel Pearson, the Bristol City manager has praised the capabilities of Phil Jagielka after the former defender helped Stoke City earn an invaluable win at Ashton Gate.

Even though goals from Jacob Brown and Liam Delap, the attacking duo completed an impressive turnaround for the side of Alex Neil side on Saturday, the specimen player, along with Morgan Fox and Harry Souttar, the World Cup sensation became a part of the strong defensive unit, which withheld the onslaught from Robins in the second half.

Denying players like Antoine Semenyo and Andreas Weimann is a good achievement for a defender belonging to the second tier. However, it will be a little surprising for a player who has seen Jagielka be the most consistent defender for their side after his move to the Bet364 stadium.

Tomas Kalas has been ruled out because of his long-term injury; Pearson named Andy King as the heart of the defense, irrespective of leaving Rob Atkinson and Timm Klose out of the 18 match days. His jealousy of the option Neil was evident after the match. Pearson said absolutely, they could when he had been asked if his side can benefit from players, such as Jagielka.

He said that they can greatly benefit from such a payer, and he is a splendid specimen. Pearson said that he worked with him when he had been playing in the U-21 team in England. Thus, he worked with him several years ago and has had a stunning career.

Jagielka had conceded two goals in the match against Cardiff City, and his reinstatement into the starting line-up of Stoke City can prove to be highly beneficial for the visitors. Pearson isn’t the only one to be praised of the defender. Martin Canning had also been praising him.
