STOKE, OTHERS KEEN ON TWINE

Stoke City and several other English teams are in the race to sign MK Dons midfielder Scott Twine this summer. This is according to the report from the stables of TEAMtalk which revealed that Stoke City will have to fend off the interest of many teams in their bid to sign Twine from MK Dons when this summer’s transfer window opens.

Apart from Stoke City, other English Championship teams teams such as Middlesbrough and West Brom are also interested in signing the 22-year-old midfielder. The MK Dons player is also attracting interest from the Premier League with Norwich City and Burnley keen on him. Norwich City have already known their status for next season as they would be in the English Championship after their relegation from the Premier League was confirmed last weekend courtesy the 1-0 defeat to hosts Aston Villa with Ollie Watkins getting the only goal of the game in the first half. For Burnley, a run of ten points from their last four games has taken them closer to Premier League safety though they are just two points clear of the relegation zone ahead of their final four games.

Twine has been the standout player in League One football this season after scoring 20 goals plus 13 assists on the way to helping MK Dons achieve third place on the league table and it’s not a surprise that teams in the English Championship and the Premier League want to sign him. The midfielder showed a lot of promise while he was at Swindon Town last season, but few would have expected his excellent outings for MK Dons this season.

MK Dons have lost the first leg of their playoff semifinal tie with hosts Wycombe Wanderers and Twine might be on the move if they don’t secure promotion to the Championship.
